Scripture
Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 5:23; Hebrews 8:5

Beloved couple, before we talk about anything else this week, let me ask you a question. Who is ruling your home?

I am not asking who pays the bills. I am not asking whose name is on the mortgage. I am asking, spiritually, in the unseen, who has been calling the shots in your marriage? Pressure? Offense? The opinion of family members? The last episode you watched? An old wound from before you ever met each other? Friend, every home has a head. If Christ is not seated there, something else is. And whatever sits on the throne of your home will lord it over you until you dethrone it and crown Him.

Hear me clearly. A home without Christ as Head is not headless. It is mis-headed. Today we fix that.

Every House Has a Head

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Colossians 1:18

Notice the words. In all things he might have the preeminence. Not in some things. Not in spiritual things only, while you go and figure out the marriage by yourself. In all things. The bedroom. The bank account. The conversation at the dinner table. The way you respond when your spouse is wrong. The way you handle the in-laws. The screen time. The schedule. The silence. Christ wants the preeminence in all of it.

Beloved, in heaven the Father is Head. In the home, Scripture says Christ is Head. "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church" (Eph 5:23). Look at that order. The husband leads, but only under a higher Head. The wife builds, but she is building on the same foundation. If Christ is not first, then the husband is not really leading; he is just imposing. And if Christ is not first, the wife is not really helping; she is just enduring.

Prayer

Let me pray right here: Lord Jesus, every voice that has been ruling this marriage that is not Yours, be silenced now, in the name of Jesus. Every lord, every influence, every ancient pattern that has carried more weight than Your Word, fall, in Jesus' name. Amen

Lordship Is a Crowning, Not a Suggestion

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Ephesians 5:23

Friend, you do not nudge Jesus to the head of your home. You crown Him there. There is a difference. A nudge says, "Lord, would You please help us a little more?" A crowning says, "Lord, this throne is Yours. We are stepping down. Rule us."

Watch this. Pastor sees couples all the time who love Jesus, attend church, give faithfully, and still cannot find peace in their own house. Why? Because Jesus is welcomed as a guest in the home, not enthroned as Lord. A guest is consulted. A Lord is obeyed. A guest is thanked for coming. A Lord is the reason the house stands. And until your home knows the difference, every storm will rattle the walls.

Prayer

So today, beloved husband and wife, you crown Him. Out loud. Together. You say: "Jesus, You are Lord of this home. We were not made to rule it. You were. Take Your place." And the moment you mean it, the atmosphere of your house begins to shift. Strongholds that hid in the corners begin to lose their grip. Old patterns begin to break. Heaven leans in. In Jesus' name. Amen

The Pattern Begins With the Head

See that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
Hebrews 8:5

This whole week is built on a pattern. And every pattern begins with what is highest and works its way down. You do not build a temple from the ceiling. You do not build a marriage from the crisis. You build from the Head. Christ first. Everything else follows.

A long time ago, a couple came to Mum exhausted. They had tried every book, every counsellor, every technique. Listen to this. When we sat down, the very first question was not, "What is your conflict about?" It was, "Who is Lord of your home?" Both of them paused. Neither could answer. They had been husband-and-wife for fourteen years, born again for ten, and somehow never sat down and said together, "Jesus is Lord here." That night they did. And though their issues did not vanish in one hour, the atmosphere shifted in one hour. Because where Christ is crowned, room is made for Him to rule.

Prayer

Beloved, receive this today. Receive Christ as Head of your home. Not as theory. As Lord. Receive Him. In Jesus' name. Amen

Discussion 1. Husband and wife, name one decision in the last month where Christ was not consulted. What did you consult instead?

Where in your home has Jesus been treated as a guest rather than as Lord?

What one area of your marriage would look different tomorrow if Christ truly had the

preeminence?

Prayer & Declaration

Stand together. Hold hands. Decree out loud:

Prayer

Lord Jesus, today we crown You Head of this home. Take Your place. We step down from the throne we were not made for. Rule, guide, and govern every decision under this roof. Every other lord, pressure, offense, fear, old patterns, the opinion of men, we dethrone you now, in the name of Jesus. Where we have shut You out, Lord Jesus, forgive us. Come back in. Be Lord here. Be Lord of our words. Be Lord of our finances. Be Lord of our affection. Be Lord of our schedule. Be Lord of our future. We declare that Christ rules this home. No other lord shall have dominion here. God has gone up with a shout. The Lord with the sound of a trumpet. We walk in the headship of Christ. In Jesus' name. Amen.

AMEN Commission Beloved couple, today you did something heaven noticed. You did not just say Jesus is Lord, you crowned Him in the place He has been waiting to rule. From this point on, every decision in this home has a Reference Point. You no longer have to bear the weight of being the final word. He is the Final Word. Crown Him today, and let Him keep the throne tomorrow.

This week

Identify one place where Christ has been a guest in your home instead of Lord, and

name it out loud together.

Act, sit together, say out loud "Jesus is Lord over this home," and write that sentence

somewhere you will both see it daily.

Pray, "Lord Jesus, You are Lord of this home. Rule us today, in Jesus' name."
