Beloved, listen carefully today.
You can name the barrier. You can identify the root. But if you keep agreeing with the thing, it will stay. Because in the kingdom of God and in the kingdom of darkness, agreement is currency. The unseen realm runs on words. The enemy cannot stay in a life unless he is invited or agreed with. And many believers, without realizing, have been signing the lease on his stay for years.
You sign the lease every time you say "This is just how I am." Every time you say "My family has always been this way." Every time you say "I will never change." Every time you say "Nothing ever works for me." Friend, hear me, those are not vent-sentences. Those are agreements. And the enemy is taking notes.
Today we tear up the lease. Today we cancel every contract you made with limitation, defeat, fear, lack, sickness, and shame. Today your mouth becomes a weapon instead of a wound. Today you start agreeing with what God said about you, and only what God said.
Your tongue has been holding the door open. Today your tongue closes it.
Nothing Walks With You That You Have Not Agreed With
Listen to the prophet:
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
This is not just poetry. This is law. Amos is telling you the principle that governs every relationship, visible or invisible. Two cannot walk together unless they are in agreement. So if a spirit of fear has been walking with you for thirty years, friend, somewhere there is an agreement. If poverty has shadowed your family, somewhere there is an agreement. If sickness keeps returning, somewhere there is an agreement. Either you made the agreement with your own mouth, or somebody spoke it over you and you never broke it.
This is good news. Because if agreement is what holds the door open, then breaking agreement slams the door shut. You do not have to beg the spirit to leave. You do not have to be more spiritual than the next person. You simply have to withdraw consent. Withdraw your agreement, and the legal ground collapses underneath the thing.
The Mouth Carries the Power
The Bible is shockingly direct about this:
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Friend, did you notice? The tongue does not just express what is in your life. The tongue carries what comes into your life. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Your tongue is not a thermometer reading the temperature; it is a thermostat setting the temperature. Every word is a seed. Every seed becomes a fruit. And the verse ends with the chilling phrase, they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Whatever you love saying, you will eventually eat.
Renewing the Mind Is the Soil of New Agreement
The mouth speaks what the mind has stored. So before the tongue can change, the mind has to be renewed.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Look at the contrast Paul drew. Conformed or transformed. Two options. Conformed is what the world does to you, it presses you into its shape through advertising, news cycles, social media, family expectations, cultural narratives. Transformed is what God does in you through the renewing of your mind. Same root word as metamorphosis, a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. Internal restructuring that produces a completely different creature.
Beloved, your mind is the soil where agreement grows. If the soil is full of the world's lies, the agreements that grow there will be lies. If the soil is washed in the water of the Word (Ephesians 5:26), the agreements that grow there will be God's truth. That is why daily Bible intake is not optional for a delivered life, it is the daily watering of the new soil.
The Three Agreements You Must Break Today
Before you finish this lesson, the Holy Ghost is going to ask you to name three specific agreements you have been carrying and break them out loud. Here are the most common ones believers have to break:
The Identity Agreement, "This is just who I am." The acceptance of a flaw, a pattern, or
a weakness as your unchangeable identity. Friend, hear me, you have a new identity in Christ. Anything that contradicts who He says you are is up for breaking.
The Bloodline Agreement, "My family is just like this." The quiet acceptance that you will
repeat the patterns of those before you. The blood of Jesus is thicker than the blood of your father. You are grafted into a new lineage.
The Future Agreement, "I will never change." The forecast you keep speaking over
yourself that locks tomorrow into yesterday's shape. Cancel the forecast. God's mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23). Today does not have to look like yesterday.
Discussion
What is one phrase you have caught yourself saying about your life recently that you
suspect is an agreement the enemy has been using? Name it.
If your mouth set the thermostat of your week, what temperature did you set last week?
What temperature do you want to set this week?
Where in your thinking are you still conformed to the world's narrative instead of
transformed by God's? Be specific.
Which of the three common agreements, Identity, Bloodline, Future, has held you the
longest? Why has it been so hard to break?
Prayer & Declaration
Stand. Hold your hands up, palms forward as if pushing something away. Speak with authority:
AMEN
Commission Beloved, you just slammed a door that has been open for years. The unseen realm took notes. From today, the spirit that walked with you through that door has lost its right of way. Now begins the watch. Watch your tongue. Watch your thoughts. Watch what you let your eyes feed on. New agreement requires a new pattern of speech, and the Holy Ghost will help you. Every time you catch yourself reverting to the old line, stop mid-sentence and restate it. He will train your mouth.
Withdraw your agreement, and the door slams shut.
This week
Audit your speech, for three days, write down every negative sentence you catch
yourself speaking about your life, your family, your future. Pattern your weakness.
Renounce three agreements out loud, name them specifically. "I renounce the
agreement that…" Speak them; do not just think them.
Pray daily, "I break agreement with every voice of defeat. I agree with what God says
about me. In Jesus' name. Amen."
